Corporate Recruiter
Berkeley Lab has an opening for a Corporate Recruiter to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with your assigned Divisions to attract and hire talented individuals across a variety of scientific, engineering and other professionals for the Area. What You Will Do:
Partner closely with Division leaders, hiring managers and HR business partners to implement talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent in support of customer business needs.
Actively promote open positions and develop diverse talent pipelines, across a variety of scientific, engineering and other professional disciplines.
Manage the full-cycle talent acquisition process for technical and non-technical positions across all experience levels, including:
Conduct in-take meetings to better support recruitment needs for each new requisition/position;
Advise on advertising strategies to reach a diverse talent pool;
Source, screen and assess applicants;
Provide guidance on interview structure, approaches, and interview questions;
Guide hiring managers/committees through the specialized Scientists & Engineers recruitment process;
Support the evaluation and selection process and drive the offer process; and
Manage the candidate experience throughout the lifecycle of the recruitment process.
Ensure data integrity and process compliance as determined by Lab-related processes and requirements.
Act as a ‘brand ambassador’ for Berkeley Lab in all internal and external engagements.
Provide consultation and communicate regular updates to customers and candidates on the status of recruitment activities, ensuring transparency in the process.
Provide support on talent outreach events and activities, as needed.
What is Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, social science or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of recruitment experience, including experience with full-lifecycle recruitment and working as an in-house recruiter.
- Ability to manage recruitment processes and procedures in accordance with organizational policy, State, and Federal regulations.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with hiring managers on recruitment activities from requisition creation, screening, selection, to onboarding. Demonstrated experience sourcing candidates.
- Excellent organization, time management, interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on problem-solving, good professional judgement, and delivering accurate, high-quality work efficiently with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in talent acquisition systems, HRIS, Microsoft, email, and reporting; experience with Taleo and PeopleSoft desired. Familiarity with Google applications and document sharing. Ability to work effectively with and provide support to end-user customers on both Mac and PC platforms.
- Experience adhering to OFCCP internet applicant rule and recordkeeping.
- Experience recruiting scientific positions and/or working in a union environment.

This is a full-time 1-year term appointment, exempt (monthly paid) from overtime pay, with the possibility of extension or conversion to Career appointment based upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds and ongoing operational needs.
